Student Support Team referral pathway

If you're worried about a student,
refer early.

Trust your instincts and refer early. The earlier the SST knows, the earlier we can help, together. This page helps you decide when and how to refer, and tells you exactly what happens next.

Should I refer?
If any item in the left column applies, submit a referral.
Refer if you notice…
  • Consistent difficulty across multiple lessons or subjects
  • A sudden change in behaviour, mood, or engagement
  • The student is not responding to your usual strategies
  • You've tried at least two classroom adjustments with no improvement
  • Peers are noticing and it's affecting class dynamics
  • A parent has raised concerns to you directly
  • You have a gut feeling something is not right
Consider instead…
  • The difficulty appeared once or only in one context
  • You have not yet tried any classroom adjustments
  • The student is already on the Quest Register
  • You just want to have an informal chat with the Quest Specialist, just ask them directly
