Daily Spark

Skills before curriculum. Every day.

Daily Spark runs 8:10–9:00 every morning, before curriculum begins. It is not a filler session. It is the whole-school skills delivery vehicle: EF skills, values, Zones of Regulation, and portfolio reflection built into the rhythm of every day.

Lower School Daily Spark
8:10 – 9:00 · Monday – Friday · PS2&3 through G5
Full 50-minute skills session every day. Consistent structure builds the routine before the school day demands begin.
  • EF skill of the week, introduced Monday, practised daily
  • Zones of Regulation check-in and co-regulation practice
  • Values strand, linked to the six school values
  • Portfolio reflection (Friday), student records evidence in Spark portfolio
  • Quest Specialists embedded in Spark delivery for targeted students
Upper School Daily Spark
8:10 – 9:00 · Monday – Friday · G6 through G12
Upper School uses Spark differently, full sessions on skill-heavy days, lighter check-ins on consolidation days.
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, full 50-minute skills sessions
  • Tuesday, Friday, lighter 15-minute advisory check-in within the slot
  • EF coaching focus: planning, self-monitoring, flexible thinking
  • Spark portfolio used for IA and extended essay reflection
  • Values credentials, evidence gathered through Spark activities
Spark Portfolio
Ongoing · All students · KG – G12
Every student maintains a Spark portfolio, evidence of skills growth across EF, values, and Zones competencies. Not a graded product. A reflection tool.
  • Student-owned, student-maintained
  • Evidence feeds into micro-credential awards
  • Used in student-led conferences and advisor meetings
  • G9–G12: feeds into CAS and Learner Profile documentation
